RSVP - Sprint Reader for Chrome

To test out Rapid serial visual presentation (RSVP), reading one word at a time, I chose to use Sprint Reader for Chrome. After applying the add-on, I navigated to Aesop's Fables and chose to try speed reading the fable titled "Belling the Cat." I checked the settings and saw that the default was set at 300 words per minute. At this speed, I found the fable in this format easy to understand (and amusing). So I set the speed to 400 wpm and read again. Again, I felt that I could easily follow the story. I changed the settings again, this time to 500, and was surprised to see that I could still follow easily. At this speed, the words changed quite fast. I considered that, having now read it twice before, the 500 wpm feeling may have been from familiarity, so I chose a second fable, "The Dog and the Manger." And to my surprise, was able to understand the story. I think at this speed, I lost some comprehension, however. I was impressed with the add-on and may use it in future at 400 wpm, which is faster than my normal reading speed by about 100 wpm.
